About

IMG_0447Hey, I’m Sylvia!

A little about me: I love drinking coffee from Tim Hortons (yes I’m Canadian) or Starbucks. I play volleyball on a women’s league. I change my hair all the time. I enjoy reading, mostly non-fiction, but I enjoy journalling even more. I’m a quote freak! I also use way too many exclamation marks when I’m writing!!!!

I’m also on a journey to find out just how much God loves me. (Yes, I’m a believer, but I don’t like being called “religious”) I’m not perfect and I live by grace. A lot of grace.

Growing up, I struggled with low self-esteem. I was an incessant people pleaser. I spent many nights thinking I was an accident not really born for a purpose or a reason. Through many trials, books read, and most of all an intimate experience with God, I realized that I was believing a lot of lies.

As I can relate to any woman out there who is struggling with her worth, it’s my life’s passion to encourage other women to see their worth, true potential, and to know they are loved incredibly. I’ve recently written my first book. It’s called Love vs. Fear and will be available for purchase September 2017!

My family:

IMG_2194This is Shaun. We’ve been married for 10¬†years. We got married on a golf course, even though neither of us golf, and we sang a rock song at our wedding that Shaun wrote for us. He’s an amazing dad and very talented front man and singer of the band Whiskey Talks. Our son to this day loves rock music as I went to 4 jam sessions a week while pregnant with him. I am so blessed to call Shaun my best friend and husband.

IMG_2680This is Zevry. I was 19 when this unexpected miracle came into our lives and changed everything for the better. He has the biggest heart and cares for others. He’s also the most zany and hilarious goof I’ve ever witnessed shimmy off the bus each day. He loves super heroes but often he is my super hero, teaching me new life lessons constantly.

IMG_2130This is Moxie. We call her our “firecracker”. When she enters a room, every one knows. At the end of every movie, she gets off the couch to dance while the credits role. She’s adored her big brother since the moment she was born. She wears her glasses as the added accessory they are. She lights up our life by just being her, and we reminder her of that every other night when we sing “You are my Sunshine” to her.

Our life is a messy painting, a song and dance with sporadic rhythm and I wouldn’t have it any other way. We laugh, cry, sing and shout, are silly beyond belief and support each other. We’re far from perfect but live by grace and fill our home with love and kisses.

Thanks for reading this and I hope you enjoy the blog!

Sylvia
